Our Team
Hello! I am Miss Tracy and I am the Head of School here at The Academy. Myself, my daughter and her husband opened our nursery school after years of working in nursery schools around the world! I have over 35 years experience working with children under 5 in private settings, local authority settings and schools. I earned my NNEB and continued onto university to study for my degree in Early Childhood Education subsequently gained my Early Years Teachers Status. The Academy Nursery School is my passion and myself and my team are extremely dedicated to providing a place for our children to flourish.
Miss Kayleigh

Hi! I am Miss Kayleigh and I am a director of The Academy Nursery School. I began my career working in nurseries and gained my Early Years Teachers Status and travelled to teach English in Russia, Europe and the Middle East. Upon returning to the UK, I retrained as a Primary Teacher and now teach in a school in Bristol. I have taught in reception, Year 2, 3 and 6 so have a good understanding of the skills and attributes children need to learn before starting school. We, at The Academy Nursery School pride ourselves on providing our children with the confidence to thrive when they move onto the next step of their school careers
Miss Sarah
Head of School – Patchway
Hello, I’m Sarah J I completed my BA Hons degree in Performing Arts and Street Arts in 2013 and I was fortunate enough to be hired as ‘Atelierista’ (art/studio teacher) at a Reggio Emilia Nursery School in 2017. I spent 1.5 years gaining experience in all ages from 0-5 and completing my Early Years Level 3 Qualification. I joined The Academy Nursery School in February, 2019 as a Nursery Teacher and I could not be happier. Our children and families really are at the centre of everything we do. We have built a wonderfully passionate, caring and dedicated team and I look forward to coming to Nursery School every single day!
Miss Chantelle
Head of School – Portishead
Hello, I’m Chantelle and I am an Early years Teacher. I have 17 years’ experience in the early years and primary sector with children aged 0-11 years. I have an Early Years Teaching qualification which I completed in 2016, whilst I was the Graduate Leader for another nursery in Portishead. I have had a range of different roles within childcare from being a Nursery Manager, Nursery SEN Coordinator to owning my own After-school and Holiday club. But the biggest experience I have is being a Mummy to 2 boys: Max who is 9 and Freddie who is 4. I feel I have the best job, being able to support our children to grow and develop their skills ready to send them off to their next chapter in life.
